If you want to try the forthcoming Service Pack 1 for Vista you can download the release candidate from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d…..Lang=en. You simply extract thefiles then run the cmd file to add some stuff to the registry. Now you do a Windows Update and it will install an update that makes updating smoother (according to them). After a reboot you do Windows Update again for another installer update. Then after this one you can install SP1. I warn you that it can take a while to download and install SP1 but I have it running fine here with no problems.

Block Adverts On Websites
Ok I know this will sound weird given I display ads on my site but I have decided to show Firefox and IE7 users how to block adverts on websites.
Anyway blocking ads is simple to do. If you use Firefox then simply install the Adblock Plus extension. For IE 7 users there is IE7Pro which as well as blocking adverts also adds a plethora of features to IE 7 such as "Tabbed Browsing Management, Spell Check, Inline Search, Super Drag Drop, Crash Recovery, Proxy Switcher, Mouse Gesture, Tab History Browser, Web Accelerator, User Agent Switcher".
A very very few sites have now started actively trying to block people who use ad blockers but the way I see it is if they want to force me to view adverts then I don’t want to visit their site anyway. I guarantee you will find the same information or the same product on another site that doesn’t mind if you block adverts.
Yahoo Messenger 9 Ad Removal
Today I decided to install Yahoo! Messenger 9 on my better halfs laptop. I uninstalled version 8 and then installed version 9 (beta). Everytime I went to run it I got an error message. Anyway according to my friend Dermot you need to remove every file from 8 before installing 9. To make life a little easier he has written a small program that removes all traces of Yahoo! messenger from your computer. You can get it, along with his program for removing the adverts from Yahoo! Messenger at HERE ![]()
Site Overhaul
Ok I have decided to change my site to a blog driven one. If you are looking for the old tutorials, smileys etc then you can access the old site at http://carbonize.co.uk/Old.
Now it is blog driven I intend to actually post things a bit more regularly. Honest ![]()

Yahoo! Answers cont
So Yahoo finally got back to me after I emailed saying that I thought suspension for a first offence was harsh and here is their response.
We appreciate your inquiry about your suspension from Yahoo! Answers and/or the deactivation of your Yahoo! ID. We reviewed your case, and decided that your account is not eligible for reinstatement.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to recover any information within this account. Should you decide to continue using Yahoo! products in the future, we hope that you will comply with our Yahoo! Terms of Service and any product-specific guidelines.
Isn’t that nice of them. No warning just instant ban. And they still have yet to tell me exactly which rule it is I broke since I cannot find anything when I went through their guidelines or Terms and Conditions.
Just another reason why Yahoo! Answers is a waste of web space.
Yahoo! Answers Stupidity
Today I received three emails from Yahoo! Answers. The first informed me that my account had been suspended but no reason was given in this email. The second email informed me that a post I had made was against their terms and so had been deleted. The post in question was in response to someone asking about downloading music. My answer was
I’m going to assume you mean tracks you should be paying for. Emule is brilliant for obscure tracks or one of songs but I’d recommend Bit Torrent for downloading full albums.
yet I cannot find a single rule this post broke. I have emailed them asking but have yet to receive a reply.
The funniest thing is that 4 hours later I receive a third email from Yahoo! Answers. This time to inform me that, yet again, one of my answers had been chosen as the best answer. I believe that makes 17 best answers for me so far out of about 100 I think. I say I think because my suspension also includes the removal of my Yahoo! Answers profile. So once again Yahoo show how totally stupid and incompetent they really are.
