Hi, I am starting a site and want to include a forum, there are so many to choose from that I would like to read from the people's experiences which one would be a good one.
It all depends on what you aer after from a forum. How much it is going to get used and how many members you think you will have.
I'm going to assume you want a free forum. If you don't to host it yourself you could try http://forumer.com where you can create a forum and they will host it as well as do any upgrades when new versions are released.
If you want to host your own script I'd recommend SMF as it is free yet very powerful. This script here is UNB which is fancy and reasonably powerful but no where near as powerful or customisable as SMF.
I Thought about SMF but then I saw you had the UNB so I doubt it. I've read good things about SMF so I think it will be the one.
I am planning to open a community for social projects in Latin America, I don't know how many people eventually will join us but certainly I want to be ready and don't have to migrate later on because the board is not good enough, if you know what I mean.
