Subject: Thinking of starting the "I Hate Firefox" Club
I can't understand why so many people love this browser.  I hate it!

'Xcuse me, I needed to vent.

I have the script to prevent right clicking, and it was working fine.  Now that I have upgraded to the latest version of Firefox, this no longer works.  I didn't remove the script from my documents, but you can right click and copy anything.  The same files have right clicking disabled in I.E. Does anybody know if there is a way to prevent right clicking in this latest version of Firefox?

I am only using Firefox because I.E. has vulnerabilities.  I've installed all the I.E. patches (23 I needed!) but it's still a no go for sensitive areas.

I found out that problem I thought was a spellchecker on your forum was actually Firefox.  It's not doing it anymore.  In addition to that craziness, It took two days after installing it before it would perform the "find" text feature.  At first it just wouldn't find anything. Working okay now... I guess it needed to warm up?  :?:

Thought I would try out your poll, something I haven't done before.  I was expecting the poll to be at the bottom... oh, well.

Maybe your "no right click" script was written for IE only, some javascripts are. Have a look on www.dynamicdrive.com for a different one. By default a decent no right click script will also affect Firefox but Firefox, like Mozilla and Opera, both allow you to stop scripts from doing this. No right click scripts are easily bypassable anyway, even in IE.

The find as you type feature of Firefox is now turned off by default I think. You will find it in Option - Advanced. Now you mention it I understand what the problem was. I find that find as you type can be confuse you at times, specially when using the Tab key to navigate through a form.

personally i have used firefox since it came out, and i haven't had any problems with it, it is more secure, less of a screen clutter, and the extensions are just excellent, i mean what other browser is going to have an option to put the "I must not fear" speech from Dune in it? or card games, irc chat client, a z emulator for text adventures, there's also launchy, nuke anything, the mcsearchpreview extension that gives you thumbnails of the webpage a link directs to without clicking on it, you can highlight urls in paragraphs that haven't been linked right click and open them, zoom image, dictionary look ups, google cache, google pagerank, and even an extension so you can tweak your network settings...and these are only a slight margin of the extensions you can get and there will be tons more coming soon. it is by far the most upgradable, sleekest, and secure browser there is, and it's the only one i know of that actually tailors to the end user's needs and not what the company "thinks" the end user needs. believe me IE is soon to fall.

Damn talk about extension overload, you sure love them. I just read an article stating that Firefox is now used by 5% of web surfers. With Mozilla planning on replacing the Mozilla browser with Firefox and Netscape 7.3 being built on Firefox code the future is definately orange furred. I wonder how long till AOL uses Firefox as the browser in their software. Unfortunately the net is still littered with sites that demand active X support and other sites that just refuse you entry unless you are using IE or Netscape.

well that's why i have the "view this page in IE" extension for firefox hehehe, as far as AOL it probably doesn't matter which one they use, it'll still suck. And yes, i do love the extensions, half the time i never have to leave my browser.

I tried Firefox in both Linux and Windows. In both, it crashed every five minutes at least. I prefer Opera. I also prefer polls that list more options than a couple of browsers and "other". Sorry if you can only list four options; I have no idea. I know a lot of people probably would like options for Opera, Konquerer, or maybe even Lynx... I'll choose "other", though...
I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna take five.
