Subject: addentry.php disappeared

Hi Carb
I still need your help.
I have a guestbook where hackers and spammers they make disasters.
Now disappeared the addentry.php
it is sufficient to upload it one other time, and all works fine.
I would want to understand that what has happened, like is possible that addentry.php disappears.
could you help me to understand it

Check iin the guestbook folder to see if it has just not been renamed.

the file addentry.php is not renamed, it is not present.
I upload newly the file but after some days the file disappear an other time
and i must uoload it newly.

Unless you have edited any of the files you can simply download a new copy of the guestbook and upload the new files over the old files EXCEPT admin/config.inc.php

that is what I do
I wanted to understand how happens that the file disappears.
it is possible that a hacker cancels it?

Possibly but a hacker would usually do more and make it obvious they had done it. Most hacking is just attention seeking, the other sort is pointing out flaws in a server. Either way they usually make it obvious.

which thing can cause the disappearing of one file from the server?

Maybe something your host did, maybe your ftp program messed up.

the only file that disappear are addentry.php
i think that is a little improbable that always addentry and only addentry disappears
that is happened not few times.

oh well just reupload it and make sure you have not set the permissions to 777

check it daily and if it disappears get your hosts to check their logs.
