12000+ spam after upgrading

Just upgraded to 1.13.1 about 3 weeks ago and have gotten about 12000+ spams since. Settings are not different. What gives?

12000+ spam in three weeks seems rather excessive. Anyway when you first started using Lazarus was Lazarus your first guestbook or were you converting from Advanced Guestbook ?

Been using lazarus for several years, advanced guestbook a year or two before that. Upgraded from a previous version of lazarus. I noticed a few weeks ago I was getting MySQL connection error messages emailed to me from Lazarus. Been too busy to pay attention to it until today. I also noticed that went I went into admin, was unable to ban IP or ban IP and delete. Returned a Query Error as illustrated below:

MySQL Error  : Query Error
Query        : INSERT INTO book_ban (ban_ip) VALUES('217.219.77.5')
Error Number : 1142 INSERT command denied to user 'erunyon_lazarus2'@'82.197.131.44' for table 'book_ban'

1 - Is the advanced guestbook files still on your web hosting?
2 - Did you run install.php when updating ?

advanced guestbook files been gone for at least 4 years.
Yes, ran install.php. Had no installation issues. Removed it afterwards.

As to the IP banning issue it looks like the permissions have changed on your tables and now the MySQL user account you are using with Lazarus is not allowed to insert new data in to the book_ban table.

As to the spam can you message me the link to your guestbook please.

I hadn't noticed that. Seems that there is an extra lazarus directory ans slash in the url that shouldn't be there. Is it possible that all the link paths are like that thereby allowing spam?
I don't have time right now, but will check the configuration tomorrow.

Well I tried to post and due to issues it kept telling me my session had expired.


Hmmm I just noticed the last post/spam is from Monday, August 10, 2009. I'm wondering if your hosts didn't restore an old copy of your website at some point which restored Advanced Guestbook for a little while.
